Merchandising Manager – Marketplace
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to manage and optimize the merchandising and content across various Marketplace accounts, ensuring that all product launches and updates are executed accurately and efficiently.
This role involves a focus on SEO-driven content creation, effective project management, and strategic communication with both internal teams and external brand clients. The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding of Amazon systems, marketplace accounts, meticulous organizational skills, and creativity to enhance product visibility and drive sales performance.
Additionally, they will play a key role in troubleshooting issues, collaborating on strategic initiatives, and continuously improving processes to meet and exceed established KPIs and SLAs. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of merchandising and content quality that directly impact the success of our brand partners in a competitive, fast-paced e-commerce environment.
The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the overall presence of how our brand’s content & data is merchandised on online retail sites.
The Merchandise Manager not only leads this effort for specifically assigned retail partner(s), but also has direct oversight and merchandising responsibility to the retailers and or brands.
The Merchandising Manager is organized, methodical, and forward-thinking as the role requires careful examination of large spreadsheets, substantial e-mail and ad-hoc requests, developing and executing upon strategy, as well as day-to-day management responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Merchandising
Launch, track and maintain product on Marketplace Accounts:
Utilize excel templates, retailer portals and/or PIM systems to ensure all requirements are met prior to items launching
Ensure all product updates such as pricing, specs, and imagery reflect accurately online by the established deadline
Assess product accuracy through various site audits, ensuring content, pricing, imagery, and placement are optimized for prime searchability
Perform various ad-hoc projects relevant to assortments and/or retailer requests
Troubleshoot any marketplace/portal issues that arise and create support cases where applicable
Troubleshoot various errors within the portals, and work directly with the retailer's support team to address and escalate any issues
Content
Write SEO-rich product titles/ product descriptions/ specialized brand copy for brand clients using best practices and brand standards
Lead on keyword research to ensure BrandJump delivers SEO best practices to brand clients and retailer partners
Build and maintain A+ Content and Brand Stores for all brand partners
Research latest Amazon Content capabilities to support client recommendations, such as best practices and new updates for Amazon Advertising, Seller Central, and Vendor Central
Internal & External Communication
Work directly with Strategic Channel Manager to drive and execute retailer merchandising and sales strategy
Partner with Brand Content team to ensure retailer requirements are communicated, updated and optimized to boost sell through
Collaborate directly with brand clients to discuss and implement merchandising strategies, including;
Assortment strategy
SEO enhancement opportunities
A+ content creation/enhancements
Brand page creation/enhancement
Communicate frequently with brand clients to inform them when new products go live, or to give updates for ongoing projects
Participate in onboarding of new brand clients, including, but not limited to;
Participate in onboarding meetings
Perform an assortment audit if applicable
Perform data/image audit if applicable
Project Management
Meticulously track projects and metrics, including:
Time spent performing tasks for varying brand clients (via TSheets)
Timelines for product launch and amendments
Product launches and updates
Varying ad-hoc projects
Monitor and seek constant improvement upon KPI’s and SLA’s, ensuring timelines are adhered to and quality metrics align with requirements
Manage large project workload through diligent prioritization, exercising flexibility with varying business needs and communicating updates to internal partners
Skills, Qualifications & Expertise
2-4 years of Amazon merchandising experience
Deep understanding of Seller and Vendor Central systems and intricacies
Experienced in successful Amazon product listing launch and management
A basic level of SEO understanding
Experience with Helium 10
A general understanding of all paid Amazon ads including but not limited to keyword targeting, audience building, and campaign optimization best practices
Candidates must have strong organization, communication, and time management skills
Advanced Excel skills required (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
Experience with high volume project and data management
Demonstrated ability to perform under tight deadlines
Highly meticulous and observant with strong follow up capabilities
